I read constantly. I also hoard books. It's safe t say I'm happiest when there's a daunting pile of books surrounding me, waiting to be read. The pile pictured here is what I'm working my way through at present, and it's delightful. (Confession: There are also 20+ books on my Kindle and the big bookcases in our house that I've yet to read as well.
A few wonderful things I've read lately -
A ROGUE BY ANY OTHER NAME by Sarah MacLean. MacLean is one of the most exciting writers working in romance today - she never disappoints. I love her Rules of Scoundrels series, even though I've read them terribly out of order. ROGUE is the first book in the series, and I loved it just as much as the second and third books, which I'd already read. PS - The second book in the series is my FAVORITE. Pippa, the leading lady, might be my favorite leading lady ever in a romance novel. She's out of this world! (ROGUE is my book club's February pick, and it's so sweet and perfect for a month that contains Valentine's Day.)
WHEN A SCOT TIES THE KNOT by Tessa Dare. The Highlands usually aren't my thing, but this book was so much fun and full of joy I couldn't resist it. Seriously, it's a blast to read!
ROMANTIC OUTLAWS by Charlotte Gordon. Not at all a romance, but instead an engaging, thorough, and delicious dual biography of Mary Shelley and Mary Wollstonecraft. I'm a huge nerd for Shelley & her contemporaries - and even briefly envisioned myself becoming a college lit professor to be able to teach the subject. It didn't happen, obviously, but I'm still hooked. As an added bonus, I picked the book up during a happy hour of wandering Sandmeyer's Bookstore in the Printer's Row area of Chicago - a store I make it to maybe once a year, but think is so cozy and adorable.
